The Frýdlant – Heřmanice Railway Line, Heřmanice station

The efforts of railway enthusiasts and societies in Liberec Region, operating a number of historic locomotives, help to increase awareness of the importance of rail travel. It is thanks to such people that we can look into the history of the narrow-gauge railway betweenFrýdlant v Čechách and Heřmanice. The Frýdlant district Railway Society, founded in 2004, is one such group, and in the locomotive shed near Frýdlant railway station they have a permanent exhibition illustrating the railways of Frýdlant district including the history of the narrow gauge Frýdlant – Heřmanice line...

The Hradčany Route, Česká Lípa Area

The Česká Lípa area is part of the Liberec region and is a combination of three landscape units with different economic development. These do, however, have something in common - old trade routes. Two old trade routes ran across the Lusatian Mountains, the northern border of the area, from inland to Lusatia. The first was used in the 14th century and ran from the Boleslav area through Kuřivody, Mimoň, Stráž pod Ralskem and Jablonné v Podještědí to Petrovice and on to Zittau. The second, the Zittau route, ran from Česká Lípa around Sloup v Čechách and Cvikov, through Krompach to Zittau...

The Ještěd Race Track, Liberec

A track of 6 km in length from Horní Hanychov in Liberec to the summit of Ještěd Mountain or of 11 km in length from Křižany became the setting of a traditional race of vintage cars, a symbol of more than one hundred years of history since the origins of car production in Liberec and of the pioneers of motoring in the Liberec area.
